Bhavnagar is the base for Palitana. The stairway up Shatrunjaya starts very early, so the useful plan is a night halt and a cab that is already outside at 4 am.
Velavadar can be added in the cooler months if the group wants a grassland hour after the climb. We will not pretend both fit comfortably after a same-day drive from Somnath.
